Our Living Our Transitions
Our Living Our Transitions
From Transitions to Transformation
Service Description
"Just for the record darling, not all positive change feels positive in the beginning." - S. C. Lourie At a time in history when we are profoundly impacted by the breakdown and breaking open of much that has shaped our way of life, we are called to look inside ourselves as we look beyond frameworks of the past for guidance. We are the ones tasked to create models and methods that give prominence to the ‘successful navigation of transitions’ as the pattern for transformation of our lives, our communities, and our world. In a series of six dynamic early morning classes, participants listen, observe, interact, and complete exercises designed to prepare us, individually and collectively for the tasks. Not everyone is ready for this opportunity or challenge. If you are ready, even though slightly scared, know that we welcome you to join us for what promises to be a series of six energizing, intimate, and creative learning sessions. The six session, 90-minute class meetings are designed for both lay and professional participants. If seeking credit for 9-CEU’s by an accrediting/licensing board, please contact us for more detailed information. The six meetings occur on April 3, 17, May 1, 15, 29, & June 5. Each meeting is 90 minutes, 8AM to 9:30AM, CST. Course Objectives 1. List ways that transitions affect us, individually and collectively, while we, in turn, influence others. 2. Describe theories and models used to describe the nature and scope of transitions. 3. Develop greater awareness of our own life stories, as they tell our degree of progression from “stuckness” to being “unstoppable” when it comes to the navigation of transitions. 4. Draw from the theories and models described in Objective Two to identify specific strategies, tactics, and tools that we can apply, share, and lead others to apply. 5. Join each other in the online learning community (all six meetings) to imagine and later in the class to propose a list of shared values and a co-created ‘Guide for Continuing to Navigate Transitions’ in ways that communicate an emphasis upon individual and cultural growth and development.
